"We already pass!"
Passing the initial 3-day inspection was the easy part, the 3-week follow up...
now that's a different beast!
Many businesses assume that by passing this phase of the violation, guarantees they will pass the 3-week follow up inspection. The sad reality is that this inspection tends to be more brutal. Regulatory agency health inspectors, are trained professionals when it comes to finding pests.
They know exactly what type of treatments were rendered by your pest control company, simply by reading the service report. Often times, when the report claims that they did not find any evidence, and simply applied a standard treatment, it will be easy for the health inspector to find the 80% of nymphs that were untreated, and/or recently hatched.
Cockroach ootheca's, and eggs, are shielded from most popular pesticides, giving them ample opportunities to thrive in their new environment. If the recommendations from the health department, and/or your pest control provider were ignored, then, it will be easy for the health inspector to find new violations.
If you fail the 3-week re-inspection, then get ready to ride the cycle of headaches! You will be facing fines, loss of money due to business being closed, and sadly, another negative violation for the year.
RedFlags are real, so you can expect the health inspector to visit your place of business multiple times! But wait, there's more! If you have more food establishments in other areas of the city...you guessed it, they will be targeted for an inspection.
